What's this No. 11

I haven't done one of these in a while, but here's a mystery photo (a la Rick Lee). Can you guess what this is. Post your guesses in the comments section below. I thought this one would be easy, but I showed it to a few people who didn't get it right away, so I thought I'd post it.

That's a good shot. It's a neat composition and it's a pretty hard guess. I really don't know. That thing coming out of the top seems curved but I can't tell if that's lens distortion or if it's really curved.

No idea..... so here's a guess... :-)

A stick in a hole of a round yellow object. How's that?

Ok, here are three for the price of one.

It would have to be super-macro, but is it a bead on a string?

Some sort of fruit?

A fancy pencil sharpener?

I think Stacey's somewhat vague guess was actually the closest ;-). It's a child's toy that has wooden beads on thick wires similar to an abacus, but the wires are curved. So, the object is curved, and it's not the lens. Here's another view.

And to think... we have one of those things in the kids playrooms....
