More Playing with the Infrared

Here are two shots I grabbed this morning ... one outside my house and one of the building where I work. Again, both of these are through the Hoya R72 infrared filter, then converted to grayscale.

My camera I used for these (a Nikon D100) has not been converted for infrared use, so I still have to use longer exposures, and ideally should use a tripod, although these were just tests, so I tried handheld. The filter is very, very dark, and you can't even see enough to frame your shot through the viewfinder (again, if you're using a tripod, you would have to compose your shot first, then put the filter on ... with these, I just guessed at it).

The building shot is in very bright sunlight, and the exposure on it is 1/10 sec at f/4 on ISO 400.

These are just shots I've gotten from playing around. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out and try some good ones with the tripod sometime soon.
