I stole the idea for this from someone's Flickr post, and this was my first attempt to recreate it. I started to not post this version, because there are a couple of things I would like to change about the photo, and I plan to reshoot another version sometime soon.
I used two flashes to light this photo, one as a background light turned down really low and gelled blue. The second is a SB-800 placed inside the book with an orange gel and dialed down to 1/64 power.

Really cool... is the strobe bouncing off the pages or what?
Yeah, it's bouncing off the pages. I did that to try and get it a little softer on their faces.
