Kenzie & Pals

My daughter loves any type of creature you can find in the yard. Here are a couple of her new "friends" we found Sunday.

Baby Birds

I was trying to not get too close to disturb them, so I had a long lens and, since it was getting a little dark out, had to try and use it with a high ISO and low shutter speed. Not too bad, after a little sharpening, though.

Statues at Night

Eight second exposure shot at night.

Two from the park

A couple of leftover weekend shots from Central Park in Ashland, Ky.

Back to Columbus

We were back in Columbus, Ohio, again today for another day of swim camp for Kenzie at St. Charles Preparatory School. This time I had the opportunity to walk around and shoot some of the statues and architecture of their campus. It wasn't the ideal shooting time (bright sun near midday) but I tried to make the most of it. Here is one of my favorites.

I created a gallery of some of my other favorites that you can view here.

Project Green - No. 5

A fitting post for Day 5, I think.

Project Green - No. 4

Anyone know what this is? No fair guessing if you share an office with me.

Project Green - No. 3 (PLT No. 4)

I knew I could find it if I looked hard enough. Two birds ... one stone.

Project Green - No. 1

Anna is starting a new color project. If only I could find a look-through to something green ... two birds, one stone.

Project Look Through- No. 3

Look through this one, and you'll see me shooting the photo.

Project Look Through- No. 2

New Project- Look Through No. 1

This is actually a photo from a wedding I did last year, but I think it fits the project.

Devices

I need to get going on Project Look Through. I'll find something today to shoot.

Two more flower shots

Chalk

I'm going to stop with Project Yellow since the project has seem to run its course, although I had a couple of yellow shots I didn't get to. Maybe I'll post them later anyhow.

Before I jump into a new project (which I plan to do) I'm going to post some of the stuff I've shot in the meantime that didn't make it during Yellow Week.

Little duckie

Project Yellow- Part 4

Bingo ... while this has some other strong colors in it as well, the yellow really makes it pop. I played with desaturating the other colors, but wasn't happy with the way it looked that way.

Project Yellow- Part 3

Project Yellow- Part 2

I've actually posted a photo similar to this one before, but since it fit the theme so well, I thought I'd take another. It's my keyboard cover I use for Apple's Final Cut Pro video editing application.

Project Yellow- Part 1

Here's the first of my project yellow photos. It's a neat idea for a project, to focus on a specific color, because it actually makes you look around more for objects you may not have thought about photographing before.

This all got started from this blog.

Purple flowers

These aren't as tall as they look. Just a few inches high, really.

Also, another blogger has issued a challenge to shoot yellow-themed photos for the week, so I'm going to try and take that up as well. Just had a few others I wanted to get out of the way first. Hopefully, I'll start posting yellow this afternoon.

Nashville Zoo

These are from our Nashville trip last week.

What a ham, smiling for the camera like that.

Opryland Hotel

Here are a few shots from our Nashville trip last week when we stopped by the Opryland Hotel.

The entire garden area is inside under a dome, and features a man-made river with boat rides available. We were there on April 1, and were the first ones in line for the boat tour that morning, so we got the historic honor of being the first people to have to pay tax on the boat ride thanks to a change in Tennessee state law.

Hotel Lobby

Again, I have more stuff to post, but just had a busy week and then weekend.

Building and Clouds

Seen on I-65...

...near Elizabethtown, Ky.

Personally, I don't like to buy used because they don't have that "new cow" smell.

Meet Mr. Noodle

My mother's Weimaraner, who is named "Mr. Noodle."

Sorry for the slow posting again, but we've been out of town, and I wasn't about to pay the $8 per day fee to use the wireless Internet service at Embassy Suites. I'll have some Nashville pics I'll be posting over the next couple of days.
